For these event posters, I focused mainly on my typographic hierarchy, so a passerby could quickly gain interest by the event's name and design, and then move into the specifics of the event including its description, time, and location. Extra information, such as the groups socials and any disclaimers were separated at the bottom.
For the "Heartbreak Comedy Show", I combined my own original illustration with block typeface. I chose colors that could obviously be seen as Valentine's Day themed, but also showed that something was slightly off, playing into the idea that this wasn't a show about love but rather about finding humor in romantic failures.
For the "Femme Show" Poster, I was instructed to use a specific color palette and was told to design a poster with a retro aesthetic in mind. I chose to create a poster with a 70s aesthetic, as the bright, blocky colors worked well on both print and social media.
"StUCC At Home" was a Zoom Stand-up Event that took place during the COVID-19 crisis. Below are two event posters used on social media to advertise the events.
